Boston, MA – (July 02, 2008) – Mirus Capital Advisors, a middle-market investment bank, today announced the formation of the Mirus Special Situations Group. Formed in cooperation with The Daymark Group, LLC, an M&A and financial advisory firm located in Manchester, NH, the Special Situations Group will advise companies in crisis and their creditors on financings, reorganizations, distressed M&A, bankruptcy proceedings, and out-of-court financial restructurings.

“In today’s economy, middle market companies are facing challenges both in their operations as a result of soaring commodity prices and in their financing as a consequence of the volatile credit markets,” says Mirus Partner Jamie Grant, who will head the Mirus Special Situations Group along with Daniel Sklar, co-founder of The Daymark Group. “To better serve these distressed companies, we are broadening our expertise and adding depth to our practice by partnering with The Daymark Group. Together, we will provide a comprehensive range of special situation services for business owners, corporate boards and special committees.”

“We’re excited about having the ability to deliver an outstanding team of professionals to every assignment,” says Sklar. “Our aggregate experience is impressive and will serve clients well. Having worked with Mirus on several engagements in the past, we know they have assembled a solid group of professionals with years of transactional experience to leverage for the benefit of clients. We’re looking forward to working with them in this new venture.”

“The principals of The Daymark Group have a wealth of experience in middle market transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, restructuring and financing,” says Grant. “Together our organizations will be able to offer clients all the resources they need to make the best possible choices among the options available to them when their company is in crisis. With offices in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, we are well positioned to serve clients throughout New England, New York and the mid-Atlantic states.”

The Mirus Special Situations Group Team

Jamie Grant, who joined Mirus in 1997, has represented distressed companies with divestitures, bankruptcy sales, and out-of-court restructurings. He has successfully executed Section 363 sales and financial restructurings for clients in the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts in Delaware, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.

Daniel Sklar has over 30 years of advisory experience as an attorney and entrepreneur. Prior to founding The Daymark Group, he was the practice group leader of Nixon Peabody LLP’s national financial restructuring practice group. He has extensive experience assisting companies with lending transactions, reorganizations, restructurings and business/asset sales. He has represented debtors, trustees, secured creditors, committees, stockholders, lessors, and senior executives in large Chapter 11 cases around the country, and has also been involved in a number of international insolvencies.

Other Daymark Group team members who will play important roles in the Mirus Special Situations Group include Mark Olsen and Mike Whitney. Olsen has over 30 years experience operating and advising middle market companies and is a co-founder of The Daymark Group. He has extensive experience assisting family-owned and closely-held companies with merger and acquisition transactions, crisis management and organizational planning. He has extensive experience with leveraged finance, debt syndication, inter-creditor disputes, and a variety of corporate finance options for middle-market businesses.
